September is Healthy Aging Month, a time when seniors are asked to focus on their health, lifestyle, energy, and making the most of their senior years. At Sevigny & Associates Eye Care in Wauchula, Lake Placid, Sebring, & Arcadia, Florida, we understand the importance of eye care when it comes to our senior patients. As you may know, in Florida, once you turn 80, eye exams are required to renew your Florida's driver's license. Annual eye exams for seniors, however, should start long before their 80th birthday.
Annual eye exams for seniors can detect a number of vision problems and potential vision problems. Common issues to be aware of as we age include:
Sevigny & Associates Eye Care traces its history to the Sevigny family optometry practice that was established in 1978 and then relocated to Wauchula, FL in 2008. Since that time, we've expanded by adding an Arcadia location in 2012, and a Sebring, Florida location in 2013. Our Wauchula, Arcadia, and Sebring clinics serve people in Hardee, DeSoto, and Highlands counties, including Zolfo Springs, Bowling Green, Lake Placid, and Avon Park.
If you or someone you know is reaching their senior years, encourage them to start getting annual eye exams. We encourage you to call our Wauchula clinic at 863-773-3322, our Arcadia office at 863-491-7777 or our Sebring location at 863-385-7070. Sevigny & Associates Eye Care clinics are located at 735 North 6th Avenue in Wauchula, FL, 2442 NE Highway 70 in Arcadia, FL, and at 363 US Highway 27 South in Sebring, FL.
